This is just a quick update to confirm that Verizon will begin selling the Gateway LT2016u netbook starting Sunday, October 4th. Earlier this week Engadget snagged a leaked document with all the details. But Verizon went and made things official today with a press release.

The Gateway LT2016u is basically a rebranded Acer Aspire One D250. The laptop has a 10.1 inch, 1024 x 600 pixel display, 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 CPU, 1GB of RAM, 160GB hard dive, and a 6 cell battery. It runs Windows XP Home and features 802.11b/g WiFi and a 3G modem for connecting to Verizon’s wireless broadband service.

Verizon will offer the laptop for as little as $149.99 after a $100 rebate for customers who sign up for a 3G service contract. Plans include $40/month for 250MB of data transfers or $60/month for up to 5GB.
