Today at CeBIT, Intel unveiled the next generation of its Classmate PC, a 10.1-inch tablet. Like earlier iterations of the Classmate, which is designed specifically for young students, this one has a clamshell design, but it’s the first to feature  a touchscreen.

The 10.1-inch screen is resistive, meaning students won’t be able to do any multi-fingered gestures, such as pinching or zooming (instead, the notebook comes with a stylus). The notebook is also more rugged than its predecessors, with a rubberized handle and bottom, hard drive protection, and a water-resistant, anti-microbial keyboard. Not surprisingly, Intel also chose to include its latest Pine Trail platform, a 1.66-GHz Intel Atom N450 CPU.

Like earlier versions, it has a rotating webcam, screen accelerometer, and microphone.
