motorolasholes1So far T-Mobile’s the only U.S. carrier to launch an Android handset (two, in fact, the G1 and the myTouch 3G), but we know that more devices across carriers are imminent. Engadget Mobile today dug up some photos and specs of the Motorola Sholes from motofan.ru. Rumor has it the device could land itself on Verizon Wireless’ shelves as early as October, which makes sense given Motorola’s plans to release two Android phones by the holidays..

Specs right now include a 3.7-inch touch screen with a nearly netbook-worthy 854 x 480 resolution, a 5MP camera, 512MB of storage, and GPS support. The device will likely support Verizon Wireless’ EV-DO Rev. A network.

We’re still not completely convinced this phone is legit, though. The photos look like legit renderings of a device, but we’ve seen concept hobbyests create similar designs in the past. That’s not to say we’re not drooling over the full QWERTY form factor and sexy curves, though.
